All students at Seaford Head School belong to one of four houses:
• Beacon House
• Blatchington House
• Cuckmere Haven House
• Friston House.
The house names celebrate our local community and were voted for by our students. Each year students will be given the opportunity to nominate and select contemporary and historical figures to learn about their achievements as part of the exploration of house values. Each house comprises students from all year groups. Students will remain in the same house during their educational journey here at Seaford Head School, with house tutor groups in Years 7-10.
Recognition of student achievement is an important part of our school ethos and students are awarded house points based on our key values; Working Hard, Respect for All, Can-Do Attitude, Honest Intentions and Positive Contributions.
There are also inter-house competitions throughout the year which link to our curriculum, these include maths challenges, writing competitions, cooking competitions, creative challenges and sports events.
There are various leadership roles within the house system including House Captains, Vice Captains, Tutor Reps and Sports Captains. It is vital that all students have the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the house system.
There are other opportunities within the school for students to take on leadership responsibilities such as the Eco Team, within the School Orchestra and within our Extra-Curricular Structure. These opportunities give the students time to build up their own core values.
