To help new students we have developed a strong transition programme with our Seaford feeder primary schools, which includes visiting students in their primary schools, as well as inviting all students to spend a week with us in July, before joining Seaford Head School in September.
Many department areas offer workshops in their subjects and details of these are sent to primary schools.
To help new students, our Transition Co-ordinator works closely with students and families to ensure a smooth transition to Seaford Head School.

If you have a child in Year 6, you MUST apply for a place at secondary school with by the deadline of 31 October 2025.
National decision day is Monday 2 March 2026.
In order to enhance your chances of securing a place for your child at one of your preferred schools your application must be lodged via the home authority for where you live, even if your preference[s] are not for schools in your area. For example applying for an East Sussex school when you live within the Brighton and Hove city boundary, it is essential you apply via Brighton and Hove. Applications are then passed between the local authorities using a secure electronic link.

If you are planning to move your child from their current school to our school you will need to make your application via the Local Authority, East Sussex County Council.
Our planned admissions for each year group are below along with the amount of students we have in each year group.
As an Academy we must comply with statutory regulations regarding admissions. Seaford Head School has been oversubscribed in the past and the trend suggests this will be the case again this year. As a result, in previous years, some local applicants or those with siblings already at the school were not offered places as they either failed to apply or made an application after the 31 October deadline.
Any applications received after 31 October 2025 will be considered as being late. As a result any such application will be considered after those received before the deadline. If you do not apply on time your child will not be allocated a school of your choice if any of the schools listed are oversubscribed. Being a resident in the school community area or if you already have other children at the school, does not guarantee a place if your application is late.
You are entitled to give three schools as preferences. It is recommended that you do not restrict your application to one preference school. If your preference school is oversubscribed a place will be allocated at the closest school with spaces, if no other preferences are given.
You may also wish to give due consideration to how your child will get to school as assistance with transport is very limited. Details are available on the East Sussex website.
