What is our Departmental Intent?:
Our Mandarin curriculum is crafted to offer students a comprehensive and engaging learning experience in Chinese, aligning with the goals of the Mandarin Excellence Programme (MEP). Our primary intention is to develop students’ proficiency in Mandarin through a deep and meaningful understanding of the language and its cultural context. We aim to equip students with the skills needed for effective communication in Mandarin, and to prepare our students for future academic and professional opportunities in a globalised world. By delivering stimulating and challenging lessons, we strive to inspire a lasting interest in Mandarin, Chinese culture as well as Asian studies among our students.
